Urbana Boulders is Expanding

Big Moves Ahead: Urbana Boulders is Expanding! This project has been years in the making, and we are so happy to share more of the details with you.

For the first time ever, Urbana Boulders will be offering roped climbing. Expanding on the east side of the original building, the new expansion will be 6,000 square feet devoted to top-rope and lead climbing. Our tallest wall will offer 50 feet of lead climbing—the perfect training setup for your next (or first!) climbing trip. With the addition of ropes, we will be offering top-rope and lead belay training for those who need it.

The expansion will also include a brand-new yoga studio where we hope to offer group exercise classes for members and other organized events.

Don’t worry—the original UB you know and love will still be there! But you can expect some changes to the original layout since the expansion will provide a new main entrance and check-in station.

This project is a true community effort—we’re working with local architects and construction teams to bring it to life. Follow along on our socials and here for updates on the timeline. In the meantime, we’re still serving up a fun, welcoming climbing experience at our current location!
